Residence & daily requirements

The difference between a facility led by interested people and lived experience experts is vast. Those who are extracted from exploitation are known to run away 8-15 times from homes that lack staffers who survived similar ordeals and can relate to them on their own level. Star-Leaders have a unique ability to calm, relate to, and guide these young ones into a productive phase of life.

Sierra Cares

Serving Sierra Leone, Africa

Providing financial assistance for housing in Sierra Leone for repatriated women and children who have been held captive or for child bride situations in Middle Eastern countries, Sierra Cares partners with community resources to facilitate their return, education, and integration. They have started construction of their own Safe House for women, and it will be completed in 2024.

Sierra Cares Foundation offers a rental assistance program for 6-12 months, to help meet the most basic need for these precious women and their families. Sierra Cares Foundation does this through a trauma-informed approach that allows each woman to live within her desired community and gain access to employment and education, so she can re-establish herself in a safe and secure manner, without the fear of knowing where she will sleep at night.

young men's home

Though an exception to this website as someone that did not endure trafficking, founder Bob Williams's sensibility is due to his own experiences with rape and sexual assault. We include him here as there are very few homes for boys and even fewer that support young men 18 and up. He is the only such place in Texas.

Males are a huge portion of the trafficked youth in this country, up to 50% in many areas, and their number has been on the rise in recent years. Bob’s House of Hope works lockstep with Ranch Hand Rescue, a care program for special needs animals, to offer a collaborative healing process.
