Currently serving as the Director of Outreach and Training for Mercy Gate Ministries in the Hill Country of Texas, Karla grows and supports their Residential, Nonresidential, and Courtroom Programs, catering to women who went through what she did.
As a Subject Matter Expert and Survivor Consultant for the Department of Homeland Security’s Blue Campaign and Blue Lightning Initiative, Karla's influence is felt on a national scale. Her work has led to the arrest of over 200 buyers and the recovery of more than 30 victims in undercover hotel operations across Texas.
Recognized as a Court Certified Human Trafficking Expert, Ms. Solomon has testified in trials resulting in substantial sentences for traffickers—totaling more than 400 years. Beyond her legal contributions, Karla serves as a Council Member for the Human Trafficking Survivor Leader Council with the Office of the Governor of Texas. She is also a Community Education Partner with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and a Board Member with For Freedom Initiative.
Karla's dedication and impact have been recognized with several awards, including the Schreiner University Women’s Leadership Award in 2021, The First Stop Inc. Scarlett Appreciation Award in 2022, and The DFPS Light the Way in 2023.
She is available online and in presence to address the public as well as companies, government groups, law enforcement, and more on topics related to exploitation and trafficking.
